poem: time decomposes

dilating pupils
paint your eyes black
as life escapes you

time decomposes
turns flesh to ash
and memories, too

poem: wiry strands of white hair sprout

Bereft and unkempt
Dwelling in the shadows
Hiding from the world

Alone among you
Paranoia creeping in
Skewing my reasoning

Chattering needle teeth
Of demons in periphery
Begging me to see them

Reaching for the shadow beast
Through this veil of crystal clouds
He’s inside me now

Pushing through my scalp
Wiry strands of white hair sprout
Pushing back the sky

This pristine moment
Rolling time crashes through me
And nothing stays the same
